I found some stones stuck in the back and some minor dirt, but there are no significant issues that would hinder walking. Please refrain from purchasing if you are concerned. The laces have been customized to no-tie laces. I think it will be easy to put on and take off, even for children who are not good at tying shoelaces. I bought these new for winter play, but my child only wore them once or twice and outgrew them.
