This is a guitar made by my father, whose hobby was guitar making, before he passed away. It is being sold as a junk item. The sides and back are made of Honduras mahogany with a rare quilted pattern, and the top is Sitka spruce. The size is modeled after a Martin D size. It has scalloped X bracing. It is finished with nitrocellulose lacquer. 0 fret: 44mm 14th fret: 56mm The paint is thick and has severe cracks. It likely needs to be stripped and repainted. There are no apparent structural defects, so it may be possible to mount the necessary parts, tune it, and play it. However, it has been left untouched for many years, so we cannot guarantee its playability or any other functions after completion. I have experience playing another model with the same specifications that my father made. The mahogany dreadnought, which aimed for a vintage sound, already has a mellow and pleasant sound even when new. My father admired Doc Watson, so he seemed to have a particular fondness for mahogany models. At this stage, we have not actually strung it with strings to check its performance, so please consider purchasing it with the understanding that it is a junk item.
