Numero, a label that's attracting a lot of attention for its reissues of obscure but excellent bands, released this in '24. This release features the band the hated, a band known to those in the know, a super cool emo-core band (featuring Daniel Littleton of Ida), appearing only in the inner photos of the iconic mid-era Dischord compilation "State of the Union" (with the mystery of no song inclusion). This work has a miraculous sound, like Michael Stipe (R.E.M.) meets Hüsker Dü, and includes their signature song, the emo-core masterpiece "WORDS COME BACK." Also included is a 7-inch split featuring a cover of that song by SKULLCRUSHER, a California singer-songwriter. Despite the heavy metal band-like name, the content is a terrifyingly solemn and serene world. It's awesome that it doesn't retain any of the original song's form.
