This is an all-bisque doll I purchased long ago at an antique shop in France. It's a design that reflects the popularity of masquerade balls and circus culture at the time, a Pierrot. It's a small bisque doll, about 7cm tall, but it has a strong presence. Decoration: Hand-painted. The "red buttons" and "pointed hat (or distinctive hairstyle)" are impressive, and the bustle-like fullness on the back further enhances the clown-like appearance. Also, the slender shape of the feet gives a strong impression of being French-made (or for the French market). In good condition as an antique/vintage item. There is age-related deterioration, color unevenness, and minor scratches. The arms and legs are wire-jointed and movable, but it may be difficult to pose it sitting. Please understand.
