However, it was overkill for my needs, and I found myself not using it frequently, making it a waste of its potential, so I am selling it. There are no operational issues. It's a V2, so it has sidechain out jacks. It operates on 115V. I will ship it in its original box. The IRON Mastering Compressor is, from its basic concept, a variable-bias limiter/compressor. This concept has been significantly improved through the integration of new technologies. The IRON operates on the principle of bias-controlled remote cutoff tubes. Sharp cutoff tubes with steep characteristics are connected in parallel. Depending on the level of the signal amplitude, one or another tube is responsible for signal processing/limiting. The result is a balanced sound, and the parameter settings are easier to control. All four vacuum tubes in the IRON are a specially matched set for the entire system. Wathen CryoTone™ 12AX7-WCM long-plate vacuum tubes are not only perfectly matched as a pair, but also perfectly complement the carefully selected 12AU7 vacuum tubes. The vacuum tubes are integrated into the IRON's signal flow via a special Lundahl balanced high-level double-core mu-metal iron transformer. An independent feedforward resistor bactrol opto-isolator in the control path of the variable-bias vacuum tube circuit cuts off extreme signal peaks, ensuring that the vacuum tube circuit fully realizes its sonic potential.
