You can adjust the tightness of the boots at two points: the tongue and the sides. For aggressive carving, you can tighten them to transmit strong pressure to the board, while for ground tricks, where you need more flexibility in your feet, you can loosen them. These are WIDE boots, designed for Japanese people with wider feet. I've only used them about 5 times, but I'm selling them because the size didn't fit.
