I'm selling some of my whetstones to organize my collection, as I've accumulated quite a few for work. This is a finishing stone, a natural whetstone from Kyoto. The five surfaces other than the sharpening surface are protected. I think it's also good for sharpening plane blades, chisels, etc. It's not a very large whetstone, but if you're used to sharpening, you can sharpen large blades with it. If you take your time and sharpen carefully, you'll get a blade that cuts well. It's not a perfect square, so the size is a bit difficult to tell, but it's about 100mm x 75mm.
