This is an old book titled **『醫學正傳 (Igaku Seiden)』**, a collection of medical theories and prescriptions from China. It was found during a mothproofing of the storage room. My family has been doctors for generations, but the age of this book is unknown. About 『醫學正傳』: Author and Publication: Written by **Yu Tuan (Gu Tan)**, a physician from the Ming Dynasty in China. It was published in China in 1531 (Jiajing 10) and in Japan in 1634 (Kan'ei 11) as a complete edition of 8 volumes and 8 books. Content: 『醫學正傳』 primarily consists of medical theories and prescriptions, with a particular emphasis on the theories of Danxi (Zhu Zhenheng), while also referencing the theories of Sun Simiao, Zhang Zhongjing, Li Gao, and others. Each disease entry begins with medical theories based on the essence of the 『Inner Canon of the Yellow Emperor』, followed by pulse diagnosis mainly from Wang Shuhe's 『Mai Jing』, and then specific treatment methods. Historical Significance: It was widely disseminated as a basic text for the Japanese school of "Kosei-ha" medicine (later-generation prescription school) and is said to have been read for 20 years by Manase Dōsan, considered the founder of the revival of medicine in Japan. It was also used as a medical textbook during the Edo period and was a required subject in medical examinations. Features: Yu Tuan systematically compiled the family learning he inherited from his grandfather and the knowledge he learned from Zhu Danxi, particularly aiming to show the correct path of medicine in the section "Medical Questions."
