The previous owner was from Kyushu. They purchased this doll from a regular general store and displayed it in their entryway as decoration. However, from a certain point, strange phenomena began to occur, and the doll's expression seemed to change. The phenomena included frequent sounds of a dog barking from the entryway. It wasn't a cheerful bark, but a faint sound, as if the dog was anxious and afraid. While it could be attributed to a neighbor's dog passing by on a walk once or twice, the barking was primarily heard at night, and it seemed to be coming from inside the entryway rather than outside. Furthermore, the barking would suddenly stop when they went to investigate. There were also frequent instances of a mysterious animal odor in the entryway (they did not own any pets), and they sometimes heard a clicking sound, like an animal's claws walking on concrete. The phenomena were so strange and frightening that they gave it to me. However, I haven't heard of something suddenly inhabiting a regular doll purchased from a general store, so I asked the owner some questions, and the reason gradually became clear. Apparently, there is an animal shelter near the owner's home that takes in stray dogs and cats. As you may have seen in the news, animals that don't find new homes are euthanized. The owner's entryway was located to the north of the shelter. It is said that the souls of the deceased travel north. Therefore, I believe that the soul of a dog that passed away at that facility entered the entryway and inhabited this dog doll. I was convinced by this explanation. When I brought it to my home, I confirmed all the phenomena I had heard about. After repeatedly making offerings, they gradually decreased. This dog seems to be a bit of a foodie, and I usually offer leftovers from dinner, but when I'm busy, I offer dog food.
