This is a large plate from the "Blue Imari" series, based on the design of traditional Japanese Imari ware (Arita ware). - Design: Features the "sometsuke" technique, where designs are painted in a single color of blue on a white background. Large flowers, such as peonies, are depicted in the center, and the rim features a gorgeous window-style design with alternating lattice patterns and classic auspicious motifs like chrysanthemums. - Shape: It has a "rinka" shape, with a wavy edge, and a decorative design down to the details. - Brand/Manufacturing: This series was manufactured in Japan by the American importer Lipper & Mann (L & M) and exported overseas. It is also known as a vintage item that was sold from the late 1960s.
