The jewels are transparent and are said to be diamonds, which are more durable than rubies (information at the time of purchase). The daily rate is within approximately 1 minute, as observed visually. It's a very easy-to-read watch with a brown metallic dial and white hands. It has a quick-set function for the date and day of the week. You can quick-set by pulling the crown out one step and turning it up and down. Overall, it's in relatively good condition for its age. Originally, it was vacuum-sealed, but of course, it is not now. The band is not original, as a new Waltham stainless steel band was purchased and attached. There are some scratches from storage, but it is in good condition. I purchased it 5-6 years ago after it had been simply disassembled and ultrasonically cleaned. I rarely used it, keeping it as part of my collection and running it a few times a month to keep it in order. This time, although I have regrets, I have decided to part with it as part of a collection clear-out to raise funds for the purchase of another watch.
