This is a guitar made by my father, whose hobby was guitar making, before he passed away. It is a junk item. The sides and back are made of Amazon Rosewood, touted as "New Jacaranda," and the top is Sitka Spruce. The size mimics a D28. It features scalloped X-bracing, nitrocellulose lacquer finish, an adjustable truss rod mount, an ebony fingerboard and bridge, a 43mm nut width, 55mm at the 14th fret, and a design for the nut and saddle assuming medium gauge strings. The Amazon Rosewood was purchased from LMI around the 90s-00s. At the time, I remember it being said that it was a substitute for Jacaranda, or that it was the same species, just from a different growing and logging region as Brazilian Rosewood. Like Jacaranda, its felling and unprocessed import/export are now prohibited by the Washington Convention. The straight grain, just like that used in pre-war Martins, is very beautiful. There are cracks on the back, from the left hip towards the shoulder, on both sides of the center seam. My father was originally a vintage guitar enthusiast and started making guitars after repairing them himself. He disassembled a D28 and imitated its internal structure. He loved bluegrass and admired the sound of Tony Rice, Norman Blake, and Doc Watson. He struggled with the resonance of the body, playability, and the strength of the instrument. Please consider purchasing this item with the understanding that it is a junk item and that, being a homemade item by an amateur, its functionality as an instrument cannot be guaranteed. I would be happy if someone could utilize just the body by disassembling it. I also suggest it as a practice tool for repairs or for parts. It would be my greatest wish if it could reach the hands of someone who also enjoys making guitars or someone who repairs them themselves. It will be packed in a dedicated cardboard box and shipped by bringing it to a business office.
