This is a 3-year-old girl's hooded vest (hifu) made from all-over shibori (tie-dye) fabric for Shichi-Go-San (the traditional Japanese festival for children). It's a remake from a silk shibori kimono, and has a quilted batting (wadding) inside, making it fluffy and soft. The body length is 48cm. The fabric is blue shibori. A chrysanthemum knot decoration is attached to the hifu. This is the last item made from this fabric. It is carefully made, but it is a handmade item remade from a kimono.
