It was stored on a shelf in its box. The bowls and plates have no noticeable stains, but there are scratches and roughness on the bottom. I feel this is a common condition for Japanese tableware. Also, there are stains, tears on the surface, and markings with a marker on the original box, but the bowls and plates are stable, so I will ship them in the original box.
