★Product Information★ 【Description】 This is a signal trumpet, also known as a bugle, used for reveille, military bugle calls, etc., from the period. It's designed to transmit sound signals for purposes such as reveille, lights out, commands, orders, and warnings, rather than for musical performance. Therefore, it does not have the pistons found on trumpets used for playing music to change the pitch. The scales played are seven notes: Do, So, Do, Mi, So, Si, Do, and the player changes the sound by altering the shape of their mouth and breath control. There are "2-turn" and "3-turn" types depending on how the tubing is coiled; this is a 2-turn type. The 2-turn type produces a higher sound than the 3-turn type due to the shorter tubing. It takes a bit of practice, but I have confirmed that it produces sound. (The mouthpiece has been sterilized, so please be assured.)
