It was stored in a chest of drawers. These are scissors that my grandmother gave to the person she taught dressmaking (and Japanese tailoring). The silk scissors, Haruyoshi, have an "ibushi" (smoked) bevel finish. The dressmaking scissors, Munemasa, are marked with "Seiko-tsuki" (genuine steel) and a stamp (apparently made of the same material used for kitchen knives).
