The instructor recommended these as the first pair of my own skates, and they were purchased at an authorized domestic specialty store. While I've marked them as having some scratches, personally, I think they are in good condition with no noticeable damage! It's a great deal because renting skates repeatedly quickly adds up to this amount, and having your own skates helps you get used to them. I think having your own skates is better!
