This is a postcard of Alphonse Mucha's "Four Times of the Day: Night's Rest," a representative artist of Art Nouveau, framed in a wood-grain frame. This item was obtained at the Mucha exhibition held in 2020. ◼︎ Four Times of the Day The changes in the women's poses, backgrounds, and brightness represent the four times of the day: "Morning," "Day," "Evening," and "Night." While maintaining a sense of unity with a common decorative pattern, "Rhododendron" is depicted for "Morning" and "Poppy" for "Night," evoking the time of day. Also, the color of the women's hair gradually darkens from morning to night, and the position of the head is highest at noon and gradually lowers towards night as if falling asleep, along with the changes in pose. Poses The pose of the woman representing "Day" is slightly different from the natural poses of "Morning," "Evening," and "Night." This woman's pose is very similar to the woman in the "Amethyst" from the "Four Jewels" series. The same pose can also be seen in the illustrations of "Myojo."
