This is a keyaki (Japanese zelkova) inro (a small, tiered container) meticulously crafted by my father, whose hobby is woodworking. It has been well-received, used for things like carrying medicine, during iaido practice, karaoke, and at Awa Odori and Kobara Bon Odori festivals. Made entirely by hand, using only chisels, it was painstakingly finished. I've received kind words, such as "It's hard to believe a beginner made this," and "You can feel the warmth of the wood."
