This is an anniversary model of the ARIA AU-1, which allows you to start playing the ukulele at a very reasonable price, made in the year of its 10th anniversary. It seems to use Hawaiian koa that has been aged for 20 years for the body (of course, all solid wood!). As you can see in the photos, the book matching does not use the same board. Normally, a single board is thinly sliced into two symmetrical pieces, but this one has different Hawaiian koa pieces glued together in the center. It's unique and very good, but the glued surface is slightly warped (photos 7-10). It seems to be separated above the sound hole. It's a bit disappointing because the wood is good, but it seems like it would attach well with a little instant glue. For the above reasons, I have set it to "slightly scratched and dirty". The sound is like Hawaiian koa, with a clear, crisp tone, and it resonates with a surprisingly loud volume. You can feel a completely different tone from plywood. The tuners are ARIA genuine. I am always impressed with the excellent build quality of ARIA's tuners, both gear pegs and straight pegs. It has gorgeous specifications with gold tuners and a gold end pin. Of course, I have carved the nut grooves (last photo). Recommended for those who want to try a solid Hawaiian koa at an affordable price. The case is quite sturdy and excellent, capable of holding a long neck, and I will also include a set of spare strings as a service.
