Majimu Iha lives with her grandmother Kamaru and mother Sayoko, who run a tofu shop in Naha. The name "Majimu," given by her grandmother, means "sincerity" in the Okinawan dialect. One day, while visiting a bar with her grandmother, Majimu is captivated by the charm of rum and learns that its raw material is sugarcane. She then applies to the in-house venture competition of the telecommunications company "Ryukyu Icom," where she works as a contract employee, with a plan to produce rum using sugarcane from Minami-Daito Island. Eventually, the project develops into a major undertaking involving her family, the company, and the islanders of Minami-Daito Island. Saori Ito plays the role of the protagonist Majimu, Junko Takahata plays Majimu's grandmother, Yasuko Tomita plays her mother, and Shota Sometani plays the bartender of the bar Majimu frequents.
