The back was clean because I had applied a remodeling sheet to it. I have cleaned and disinfected it as much as possible to remove any dirt from use. I used it for just under a year and kept sugar gliders in it. A Gex heater can also be attached to the top, so you can use it with peace of mind in the coming seasons.
