First Generation Konosuke Murata Kyo-yaki, Kiyomizu-yaki Sake cup, Guinomi Dragon design With original box Diameter: Approximately 5cm Height: Approximately 6.5cm Konosuke Murata is also known by the name Heian Konosuke, a Kiyomizu-yaki artist. This is a design of the auspicious Daruma. This is one of my family's guinomi collection. It has been kept in storage since it was purchased. The guinomi has no noticeable scratches or stains. I think it's a beautiful item. The box has some slight discoloration and scratches. There was no description of the artist's biography. (Please see the photos) ★Reference First Generation Konosuke Murata Birth and Mentorship: Born in Kyoto in 1931, he began studying Nanga painting under Mr. Nirakushi Toriumi, the Executive Director of the Japan Nanga Academy, in 1951. Style: Influenced by the paintings of the Yuan and Ming dynasties of China, he is a unique artist who paints on ceramics based on "Nanga," which originated in Japan in the late Edo period. He is characterized by his soft brushstrokes, like ink painting, depicting landscapes and flowers and birds, and he had a high level of skill in painting not only on the outside but also on the inside of the vessels.
