【Keitetsu Masuyama】 Japanese caster. Born in Toyama Prefecture in 1922. Studied under Kamashi (tea kettle maker) Fujibei Okuni. As a descendant of the "Seven Casters of Takaoka" summoned by Toshinaga Maeda, the lord of the Kaga domain, he contributed to the development of "Takaoka Copperware," which accounts for approximately 95% of Japan's copperware production. Selected for the Bunten and Shoko exhibitions. His works are characterized by tea kettles and iron teapots. Currently, the second Keitetsu Masuyama has succeeded the name, and has been selected for the Japan Traditional Art Crafts Exhibition, presenting works that incorporate a modern sensibility while based on traditional techniques.
