By wrapping 1940s vintage Belden stranded wire around the Western Electric brown solid core wire used in our popular BrownSugar turntable cartridge lead wire, we have created a unique shield that retains the strength and straightness of the solid core wire while also providing the flexibility to pick up a wider range of nuances without missing anything. When compared to current cables when used with a guitar or bass, the range and ease of dynamic control are in a different league, and the sound cuts through clearly without the need for EQ or effects. Noise and S/N ratio remain virtually unchanged due to the shielding, making it suitable for live performances, recording, and any other situation. It is also very flexible and easy to handle. Most current cable materials are recycled products made by reprocessing existing metal materials, which tends to make the sound muffled and difficult to cut through. However, cable materials from an era when high-quality steel materials were abundant transmit sound incomparably smoothly.
