This is a rakin (pickled scallion) incense container made by Hideyuki Kawagishi, the son of Mitsumasa Kawagishi, one of the leading figures in Wajima's dry lacquer tradition. There are no noticeable scratches or stains, and it is in beautiful condition. The accompanying box also shows slight yellowing and scuffing, but is in good condition. It has been stored in a dark room.
