Please refrain from negotiating prices. The "kanshitsubachi" (dry lacquer bowl) in Aizu is different from the general dry lacquer. It refers to a bowl that has been coated with multiple layers of lacquer using the tools that the lacquerers used to hold the lacquer, and then polished to bring out the luster. It's a technique similar to Tsugaru-nuri lacquerware. The appearance varies depending on the polishing method. It can be used as a serving bowl for dishes, a lidded container for sweets, or as interior decor (a flower vase).
