The body is made of hard wood. The back of the body is open, and the front is covered with snakeskin. It has a higher range than the Saw U. The Saw U is used for the low-pitched part, and the Saw Duang is used for the high-pitched part. It is used in "Khruang Sai," a type of Thai folk music. The bow is placed between the two strings, and the playing method is almost the same as the Chinese erhu.
