[Material] Single piece of Hinoki cypress from Nara Prefecture ✩ One corner is beveled for easy lifting. [Advantages] ✩ We believe that a [unpainted] cutting board is the best, so we've hand-planed the surface to achieve this. The chamfered edges are also finished using well-sharpened blades. We plane it first, wet it once to raise the grain, and then plane it again after it dries, which minimizes the fuzziness caused by water when in use. Also, the end grain, which is usually difficult to plane, is also finished with a plane. This allows water to drain away in the shortest amount of time without the fuzziness or sanding marks absorbing water, minimizing the deterioration of the wood due to moisture. ✩ We predict the direction in which the wood will warp and consider the blade contact, and we slightly and gently shape it with an R-shape to match the individual characteristics of the wood.
