Size: Diameter: Approximately 13 cm, Height: Approximately 1.5 cm Ouchi-nuri is a traditional craft of Yamaguchi City, Yamaguchi Prefecture, originating in the Muromachi period under the Ouchi clan. It is characterized by a deep vermilion color, called Ouchi-shu, a subdued and deep shade of red. Many items feature painted designs, but these plates have natural wood left on the edges and outer surfaces, as if covering the deep vermilion, giving them a dignified style where you can feel the warmth of the wood. Brand new, unused, wrapped in tissue paper, and stored in a dedicated box. When held up to a light, you can see some scratches and stains that appear to have occurred during storage. They are not clearly visible in the images, but I will offer them at a bargain price as a result, so please check and understand before purchasing. The box has some stains due to aging.
