This product is from KUM, a top brand in pencil sharpeners. There are two types: pencil sharpeners and lead pointers. The pencil sharpeners accommodate 8mm diameter pencils and come in two types: one that sharpens only the wood casing and another that sharpens only the lead. Both types continue sharpening until they reach the automatic stop position. The lead pointers can sharpen 2mm and 3.15mm leads, with two corresponding types. The blades are made of high carbon steel, a material that is significantly harder than the commonly used stainless steel. Furthermore, to prevent rust, they undergo polishing and ultrasonic cleaning, followed by an oil coating, making them resistant to rust and highly durable. The blades are curved, not flat. This applies a constant upward pressure to the screws holding the blade in place, preventing them from loosening. Additionally, the curved blade moves up and down during sharpening, following the wood grain, which reduces friction and makes sharpening easier. An insertion guide is located at the front of the sharpening hole and is made slightly longer. When the pencil rotates, the guide covers the pencil shaft, in addition to the support provided by the conical shape of the hole, helping the pencil maintain a vertical position and allowing for smooth sharpening.
