This is an old Wajima-nuri lacquerware bowl. It features a deep, aged vermilion lacquer with a graceful paulownia flower maki-e design. The paulownia flower maki-e is large but delicately drawn, creating an elegant impression. While it's a generous donburi size, it's also lightly constructed, allowing the wood grain to subtly show through. It's in generally good condition with only minor storage scratches.
