For those starting out with trekking, or for those hesitant to buy expensive shoes right away, I hope you'll give these a try. Purchased about 10 years ago, and stored unused for the last 5 or 6 years. There is peeling of the resin parts, scratches, and fraying on the sides of the soles, but the sole tread remains, and I think they are still usable. They are waterproof, using OutDry technology, but I remember water seeping in the last time I used them, so please don't expect them to be waterproof. No insoles.
