DCS-244 Johnny Cap Cotton Serge × Cow Leather Free Size Inner Circumference: Approximately 56-61cm This cap is based on the one worn by the protagonist Johnny in the 1953 American film "The Wild One," which dealt with the subject of American motorcycle gangs. The film gained notoriety for depicting the reckless behavior of young men returning from military service, which was a social issue at the time. Due to its extreme nature, it was banned from being shown in the UK for a while. The protagonist was Marlon Brando, a young actor who was just starting out. He wore a double motorcycle jacket, 5-pocket jeans, a trim T-shirt, and engineer boots. And the cap was an eight-panel cotton twill cap with a leather visor. The film is in monochrome, so the true color is unknown, but it's clearly a light-colored cotton twill. Considering it in the context of workwear of the time, I believe it was light gray or khaki. This cap is a more wearable reproduction of that one. Instead of using hard-to-find metal jalousie for the chin strap, we decided it would be more efficient to make a belt from the same fabric. The leather on the visor uses thick, glossy cowhide. We deliberately omitted the lining and made it a simple construction with only piping. It's made in the same way as 1950s caps, with metal top buttons and eyelets on both sides. It's one of Dry Bones' classic items, which has been made for nearly 30 years, with occasional changes in materials and colors.
