I purchased this new from a Harley shop about 10 years ago. The size didn't fit, so I used it for about six months and then stored it in the garage. The surface of the Simpson M30 matte black helmet became sticky due to hydrolysis, which is a common issue. After that, I cleaned it with sodium sesquicarbonate to remove the stickiness and restored it. In order to remove the stickiness, it was necessary to remove the original matte black paint, so the Simpson stickers have been removed. Currently, the underlying black paint is visible after removing the matte black paint. There is almost no discomfort when wearing it as is. You can apply Simpson stickers in its current state, or you can have it custom painted. Finally, please understand that this product is a used item before purchasing. I have been told in the past that there were scratches and dirt despite it being a used item. If you are concerned about this, please purchase a new one.
