This is the M-47 pile liner, the predecessor to the M-51 Mod's Parka, adopted by the U.S. Army Air Forces in 1947 for ground personnel. It's the original fishtail parka. A rare item, seemingly even less common than the shell itself. The material is a fluffy, synthetic boa for the body and hood, with wool sleeves. The snap buttons are stamped with UNITED CARR, a button used on vintage items from the 1930s-40s. Condition: There is damage to both ribs, and there are signs of repair. Also, the strap on the right sleeve is missing. Considering it's about 80 years old, it's in good condition and can be worn without any problems.
