This is a Konica Hexanon 40mm f2.8 lens, originally from a Konica camera, modified for a SONY NEX-E mount. The mount is metal. The selenium light meter is located on the front lens element, indicating it's a very old camera, likely an early Hexanon. The aperture is adjusted from f2.8 to 22 using a small lever on the rear of the lens barrel (AUTO mode does not function). Focusing is from 0.9m to infinity (♾️) as indicated on the lens barrel, and has been adjusted to achieve infinity focus. When viewed with a penlight, the lens shows some fine dust, and what appears to be some spots of mold on the periphery of the lens. However, this should be fine if stopped down to f4 or higher. Considering this lens is about 60 years old, some dust and debris from age and use is to be expected. Photos taken with a SONY α7II, using color STD mode at f8, without correction, are included at the end. The very last photo was taken with a close-up lens attached. These were taken in backlight to showcase the lens's characteristics. As a well-regarded Hexanon, it provides excellent image quality. Unlike modern lenses that prioritize sharpness, this lens is characterized by soft edges in its rendering. For shooting, the camera settings were set to aperture-priority auto and allowed shutter release. A metal lens hood, filter, and rear lens cap are included. Price is firm. No returns or refunds. Shipped via Yu-Yu Mercari.
