The interior uses soft fabric. It's molded to perfectly fit and store the disassembled flute body. The inside is made of dark blue velvet. Made in China. I recently purchased this on Amazon for 2790 yen. When I opened it, I accidentally made a scratch on the outside (photo 4), but it's new and unused. Dedicated flute cases are expensive, but this one is universal and therefore inexpensive. Because of this, the flute isn't held as securely inside. It might be better suited for those who don't carry their flute around often. You could also use a cushion like gauze. #FluteCase
