◆Product Information◆ Yamaga Nobiyaki Rokuyo Kiln Made by Yoshihisa Furukawa (Kumamoto Prefecture) Coffee Cup (Mug) ◆Size◆ Diameter: Approx. 8cm Height: Approx. 7.3cm ※Please note that these measurements are approximate. ◆Details◆ I purchased this at a handmade market a few years ago for around 5,000 yen. Since I haven't used it much, I'm offering it for sale in the hopes that someone who appreciates it will enjoy it. I've used it 2-3 times, but mostly displayed it. I've taken good care of it, so it's in very good condition. A characteristic of Mr. Furukawa's work is that he doesn't use any glaze. Instead, he uses a unique firing method where he places charcoal around the piece to create colors like "gold" and "madder red." It's difficult to convey the beauty in photos, but perhaps the gold luster is somewhat visible in photo 8... Additionally, some areas use ash glaze, creating a beautiful turquoise blue accent. The bottom of the inside of the cup is also blue, with an interesting glass-like texture. I truly believe this is a wonderful piece that shows a different expression from every angle. The gentle texture and sound of the clay are also calming. I hope you can enjoy your tea time with this lovely vessel.
