As it is from a time when serial numbers were not used, it is believed to have been manufactured by Fuji Stringed Instruments before 1972. Japanese vintage bass guitars are widely recognized for their value among bass guitar fans, and their selling prices are expected to remain high, making them a valuable asset. Main specifications of the VB300 Body: Birch (Hollow Body) Neck: Detachable neck, Rosewood fingerboard Pegs: Covered, Chrome PU: Front and rear on/off switches x2, Tone switch x1, Volume control x2 (Same configuration as the original HOFNER) The condition of this instrument is described below. I have confirmed that both pickups produce sound when connected to an amplifier. There is no unpleasant scratchy noise or poor contact. There are some noticeable scratches and dents on the body, but no cracks in the wood. There is some slight rust on the metal hardware. There are scratches on the back of the neck and missing wood on the headstock, which have been repaired with epoxy putty. The original pegs show no rust on the plated surface and move smoothly. The string height is approximately 3.0mm on the 4th string side and approximately 2.5mm on the 1st string side at the 12th fret, and has been adjusted to the lowest possible height for easy playing. The saddles showed dents, so all 4 were replaced and repaired, and there are no dents at present. The nut width is approximately 40mm as measured with calipers. The fret life remaining is over 80%. The neck has been adjusted to be almost straight on the fingerboard side. The adjustable rod has some adjustment leeway. Although there are some noticeable repair marks, it is in fairly good condition.
