Shigaraki-yaki Katakuchi (sake server/bowl).
I'm decluttering my parents' home.
It seems this was purchased about 25 years ago.
As my family is elderly, some details are unclear.
After image searching, it appears to be:
Shigaraki-yaki
Artist: Hideaki Fukuda
Work: Yakishime Hakeme Sakazugi (brush-stroked sake server)
It seems it was not used as tableware or a sake vessel, but rather displayed as an ornament.
Approx. Diameter 11.5 x 15 cm, Height 15 cm
Actual size is shown in the photos.
Holds 350ml when filled to the brim.
Around 300ml is the appropriate amount.
Recommended for those who enjoy using it as a favorite sake vessel for evening drinks, or for use as an ornament, flower vase, confectionery bowl, kaiseki bowl, or tea ceremony utensil.
It seems to be a work that adds a soft impression with a bright gray glaze to the bold, earthy feel and powerful white brushstrokes of Shigaraki-yaki.
I am not an expert in ceramics, just a regular person.
To the untrained eye, I cannot determine whether the unevenness is part of the original Shigaraki-yaki style or if it's damage.
As it is a work from an artist from 25 years ago, there may be minor scratches and signs of aging.
Please refrain from purchasing if you are looking for perfection.
I hope those who appreciate the texture will consider it.

There is no box.
To ensure safe delivery, I will wrap it in Mirra-mat and pack it in a cardboard box with plenty of newspaper.
It is very modern and would suit both Japanese and Western-style rooms.

Mr. Fukuda's studio is located in the mountains outside of Shigaraki town, a modern, villa-like studio. It has a stylish atmosphere without the dustiness often associated with studios. Surrounded by a red pine forest, a town enveloped in beautiful nature and fresh air... the chirping of birds... a peaceful world spreads there.
