They have a modern silhouette and belong to the "Modern MONPE" category of Unagi no Nedoko. Nunu Kobo × Miyata Orimono × Unagi no Nedoko: Recreating the texture of sashiko (stitched fabric) with machine weaving. This is a collaboration MONPE between Nunu Kobo in Haebaru Town, Okinawa Prefecture, which provides the design of hand-woven indigo-dyed Hanaori fabric, and Miyata Orimono in Chikugo City, Fukuoka Prefecture, which does the machine weaving. Haebaru Town, Okinawa Prefecture, has a traditional craft technique designated as Haebaru Hanaori. Nunu Kobo in Haebaru Town uses this technique to create modern patterns with hand-woven indigo dyeing. The Hanaori design created by Nunu Kobo is reproduced with machine weaving. We have commissioned Miyata Orimono, which makes the standard cotton-padded hanten (short coat) for Unagi no Nedoko, to produce these. The three-dimensional, raised pattern of sashiko, reminiscent of Okinawa, is expressed on a rapier loom. There is some wear and tear, but it is in a condition that can be worn without any problems for those who are accustomed to used items. There are no stains.
