Salomon MANTIS Salomon MANTIS Hardly used. There are faint strap marks, but I don't think there are any scratches, scuffs, holes, or peeling. The inner boot is a lock type, and the side laces secure the ankles. The Boa system closes from the instep to the shin. It's not a single Boa system, so it tightens securely. I subjectively think the flex is mid-range. My ankles were easy to bend, and I found it easy to do surf style and carving. I happened to get different boots, so I've been storing these without using them. Finally, a note on sizing. My usual sneaker size is: Nike, Vans, and New Balance all 27cm Snowboard boots: Burton ION, FLUX, K2 TT, etc. are 27cm Only Burton Step On was 27.5cm With Salomon, I found that I needed to go up half a size to 27.5cm, regardless of the model I tried. With Burton, my instep would hurt if I didn't get the Asian fit, but with Salomon, I had no problems and it didn't hurt.
