This is a vintage fukuro obi (formal obi) received from a relative. It appears to have been worn very little, if at all. However, it has been stored for a long time and has some creases. The obi is a six-panel design with a dignified pattern woven on a dark brown background. It features vibrantly colored nandina leaves and berries, along with large chrysanthemums. The combination of nandina (symbolizing the turning away of hardship) and chrysanthemums (symbolizing longevity) makes for a very auspicious design. The vivid weaving stands out against the dark brown background, making it suitable for formal occasions such as wedding receptions, ceremonies, and parties. The dimensions are as follows, but please note that these are amateur measurements and may have slight errors: * Width: 31cm * Length: 443cm For the buyer, the obi will be wrapped in a tatoushi (storage paper, reused) and then in a turmeric-dyed furoshiki (wrapping cloth, reused).
