Guyatone FLIP Series GA-200FJ Pre-Tube Amplifier, Made in Japan The FLIP GA-200FJ is a classic 1980s Guyatone model, featuring vacuum tubes (2 x 12AX7) in the preamp section and semiconductors in the power amp section. It has a DUAL MODE SWITCH for switching between Normal and Drive modes, offering two channels. It also features a spring reverb, delivering the warm sound unique to tube amplifiers. I mainly used the clean channel, and I think you can enjoy a clean to crunch tone with a unique character different from Fender Japan. Despite its small size, it produces a considerable volume, making it sufficient for small live performances. Also, the analog spring reverb of this era is very interesting and pleasant. Power-on and operation have been confirmed. However, as it is over 40 years old, there may be some crackling when turning the knobs, but there should be no noticeable noise once fixed. There are minor scratches and scuffs from use and aging, as well as rust on the metal parts, but I believe these add to the vintage Japanese character.
