Daniel, incarcerated in a juvenile detention center, dreams of becoming a priest despite knowing that those with a criminal record cannot enter the priesthood. Released on parole, he begins working at a sawmill in the countryside. By chance, he is mistaken for the new priest at a church he visits and is asked to take the priest's place. The villagers are bewildered by Daniel, who is unlike a priest, but gradually come to trust him. Daniel, learning about a horrific accident that occurred in the area years ago, tries to heal the villagers' emotional wounds. However, the situation takes an unexpected turn with the appearance of a man who knows Daniel's past. Bartosz Bielenia, the lead actor, delivers a performance full of tension, portraying the contrasting characters of Daniel, who comes from a juvenile detention center, and Father Tomasz.
