This is a framed plaque made from reclaimed wood, further aged by time. The "福" (fuku - fortune/happiness) character has a distinctive, somewhat relaxed feel. While the artist is unknown, this type of plaque was likely made by a well-known person, suggesting the original calligraphy was deemed worthy of framing. Depending on the atmosphere, I personally prefer this humble, heartwarming "fuku" over a grandly written one. Approximately 88cm wide, 26cm tall at its maximum, and 7.5cm thick.
