There are scratches and cracks on the bottom guide. I used it a few times after it cracked, but there were no problems with its use. I don't think there are any problems with the Super Metal Top. I'm not very familiar with rods, but I will answer to the best of my ability. I used it for things like kissing, bay pufferfish, and Japanese butterfish! It's very lightweight. It's a soft rod. Tip cover included (may not be Daiwa brand), but no band.
