This is a honkan (main pipe) hichiriki used in gagaku (Japanese court music). It comes with a flute bag and one reed (rozetu) that is easy for beginners to play. I used it for about a month for test playing, but I happened to get another honkan, so I'm reluctantly selling this one to cover the cost. It's very easy to play and produces a full sound. Made by Kobo Heiraku, it's a new pipe, made of white bamboo, with rattan binding and cashew lacquer. Please note that the pitch and sound quality of the hichiriki can vary depending on the player, playing style, reed, seme (tuning), etc. How about it for those who are learning the hichiriki for the first time, or those who want to upgrade from a plastic pipe to a honkan? Also, for those who are allergic to real lacquer, or have other allergies, this is cashew lacquer, so it's safe. Since it's a new pipe, please nurture it yourself from now on.
