It used to light up when the button on the upper right of the ribbon was pressed, but it no longer lights up, likely due to dead batteries. It's still cute as is. It's generally clean as it hasn't been used much, but there is some discoloration on the ribbon attached to the clip. I think it can still be used, so please consider it if you don't mind.
